I came to CPISD in January 2019 to teach 1st Grade. I taught 1st grade for 2 & ½ years and LOVED it!
I am so thankful for the opportunity to do what I love the most, teach children who struggle with Reading! I am the Reading Interventionist for Kindergarten – 5th grade!
I will have the priviledge of working with small groups of children to build the skills they need to become confident, successful readers!
I started teaching in 1989 in Northeast ISD in San Antonio. I taught 1st & 2nd grade there for 6 years. I taught PK & Kindergarten at St. John Christian Academy, as well as acting as the principal for 4 of the 6 years I was there. I taught Kindergarten for 1 year in San Antonio ISD. I taught 2nd grade & Kindergarten in Hondo, Texas from 2002-2006. Then I taught Pre-K in Dubai, UAE at the American Academy for Girls from 2006-2009. Then I moved to Italy to teach Pre-K and Kindergarten at the American School of Milan for 2 years. I came home to Texas in 2011. I decided to go back to my birth place, Austin, Texas. I taught 1st grade and Kindergarten. I was also a Literacy Coach in an Early Childhood school. I also did small group tutoring in Reading. My last year in Austin I taught Pre-K at a small Christian school. This is when I decided to really “move home” to Center Point. I moved to Center Point in December of 2018 and started teaching in January 2019. I love it here and hope to stay here for a long time!
