Mr. Scott Turner, CPISD Board of Trustees
Mr. Scott Turner grew up in Hereford, Texas and earned a bachelor and masters degree from West Texas State University, now West Texas A & M. Prior to becoming an educator, he owned and operated a water well drilling and repair service in Hereford. He began his teaching career at Hereford Junior High, then moved to the central office as Federal Programs Director. In 1994 he accepted the High School Principal position at Portales High School, in Portales New Mexico. Missing Texas, he applied for and was hired as the middle school principal in Center Point in 1996 and has been in CP ever since. After serving Center Point ISD for 20 years, he retired in August of 2016. While employed with Center Point ISD he served as middle school principal, secondary principal and the final 8 years as Executive Director of Student Services. He is a member and Elder of the Center Point Christian Church. His wife, Brenda, retired in 2008 after teaching school for 34 years, the final 13 years in Center Point. Their son, Dusty, who is a 2003 graduate of Center Point High School graduated from West Point in 2007 and Ohio State University in 2016. He is currently a Major in the United States Army. Mr. Turner is very honored to be able to continue serving CPISD as a member of the school board.
