My culinary journey began with Working at several restaurants and fast food establishments throughout high school and moved into opening up one of the food trucks in Fredericksburg called the  Mac'N Wag'N. We have been in charge of every aspect from the POS system, menus, safety and sanitation, taxes ,time and temperature control, buying and storing food etc. This has increased my knowledge 10 fold on the behind the scene necessities to being successful in the culinary industry.

I have been a teacher for 23 years but mainly taught math with some english, social studies, science and STAAR classes. In 2023, a position opened up for Intro to Culinary and I was excited to be offered the position. Since then, I've honed my skills in  baking,  knife skills, and food presentation as well as teaching safety and sanitation.  As a culinary arts instructor, I'm dedicated to providing students with a comprehensive education in the fundamentals of cooking.

I'm passionate about building confident, successful chefs who understand the basics and are ready to move to the more advanced courses. CPISD has become a leader in culinary arts and has built a state of the art culinary building that is the Gold Standard in the surrounding area. I am very glad to be a part of such an amazing program.
