Senate Bill 12 Compliance

Texas Senate Bill 12 (SB 12) is a law that took effect in September 2025, focusing on parental rights in public schools, parental contact of adminstrators and/or the board, banning Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, and placing new restrictions on health and counselling services. Key provisions include requiring written parental consent for certain school services, such as health-related and counselling care and participation in clubs, and prohibiting DEI duties for school staff. School districts must also post syllabi on their website(s). CPISD has created this website to comply with SB12’s requirements and to make parent consent forms, engagement with administration and/or board, and syllabi easily accessible to District parents.
